A Call to Conscience: Pakistan’s Armed Forces at a Crossroads

Pakistan stands at a perilous juncture, teetering on the brink of fragmentation. To my brothers and sisters in the armed forces, you must recognize the gravity of the moment and the path that lies ahead. The nation is burning, and it is not external enemies but internal betrayal that is threatening to tear apart the very fabric of our country.

The man you call your chief, General Asim Munir, is not merely mismanaging his mandate; he is executing an agenda far darker than what anyone could have anticipated. His policies and actions are dismantling the collective efforts of generations who have sacrificed for this nation. With every command, he is alienating our Pashtun brothers and sisters through racial profiling, crushing dissent with methods that rival the tyranny of Saddam Hussein and Augusto Pinochet. These actions are creating fault lines that could push Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regions to the brink of separation.

I ask you, my soldiers, to reflect deeply on where your true loyalties lie. Is it to a man? Is it to an institution? Or is it to Pakistan and the ideals upon which it was founded? Your oath is to defend this nation, not to perpetuate the whims of a leader who has lost sight of Pakistan’s unity and survival. Your first and ultimate loyalty is to Allah, and when you stand before Him, no stars on your uniform will absolve you of complicity in oppression and injustice. What will you say to Him when asked why you turned your weapons against your own brothers and sisters?

History provides a grim warning. Recall 1971, when General Yahya Khan’s policies and atrocities led to the tragic separation of East Pakistan. The same seeds of division and mistrust are being sown today under the guise of maintaining order. Will we let history repeat itself? Will we stand by as Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regions are pushed towards alienation? As soldiers, you are being used to implement policies that are leading us down this disastrous road.

Let me be clear: this is not a call for rebellion but a call for conscience. The armed forces are a cornerstone of Pakistan’s survival, but they must function as protectors of the nation, not its oppressors. Our guns must be aimed outward, safeguarding the borders, not inward, perpetuating fear and division among our people.

Senior officers, the responsibility upon your shoulders is immense. You have the power to act decisively, to prevent further harm, and to steer the armed forces back to their rightful role. It is time to uphold your oath to Pakistan and the people, not to an individual. General Asim Munir must step aside. His actions are jeopardizing the nation’s unity, stability, and future.

I urge you to act before it is too late. Pakistan is at a crossroads, and the path you choose will define our destiny for generations to come. Do not allow history to mark you as the generation that stood idly by as Pakistan unraveled. Choose the path of righteousness, justice, and loyalty to the nation above all else.

The people of Pakistan are not your enemies. They are your brothers and sisters. It is your sacred duty to protect them, not oppress them. Stand up for Pakistan. Stand up for justice. Stand up for the future that our founding fathers envisioned.

The time to act is now.
